Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Homewood Suites Glen Allen. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical structure of the hotel is well-maintained. Your role will involve performing a variety of activities such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, and upkeep of equipment to provide a comfortable environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Replace air-conditioner filters and tend to HVAC systems.
• Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repair.
• Work with the maintenance staff to ensure the hotel's interior and exterior are well-maintained.
• Inspect and repair guest room equipment as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or extensive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous hotel maintenance experience is a plus.
• Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

This role requires long hours of standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. You must have good vision, hearing, and English language proficiency.
