Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK is looking for a full-time Medical Lab Assistant to join the evening shift team. As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by ensuring accurate specimen collection, maintaining compliance with standards, and providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Ensure proper specimen collection following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Organize workload efficiently and collaborate with coworkers.
• Follow specimen packaging and transport protocols.
• Handle patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
• Demonstrate infection control practices and ensure proper patient identification.
• Perform drug screen collection, answer department calls, and monitor phlebotomy draw lists.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous skill improvement.
• Promote quality care, service excellence, and growth of the laboratory.
• Conduct laboratory tests, prepare equipment, and assist other personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred qualifications include certification as a phlebotomist upon hire and as a medical lab assistant within 2 years.
• Previous experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
