Medical Lab Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As a night shift, full-time MLA, you will play a crucial role in our laboratory operations, ensuring the proper handling of specimens, supporting compliance standards, and providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Ensure proper specimen collection and communication with care providers.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Prioritize workload and assist coworkers to ensure productivity.
• Follow protocols for specimen packaging, transport, and processing.
• Perform patient registration, lab test ordering, and specimen distribution.
• Demonstrate infection control practices and proper patient identification.
• Provide phlebotomy services and engage in continuous self-evaluation for improvement.
• Contribute to service excellence and growth of the laboratory.
• Collaborate with various departments within the hospital/health system.
• Conduct laboratory tests in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing laboratory equipment and supporting other lab processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred certifications as phlebotomist and medical lab assistant.
• Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
