Job Description

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity with Essex Resort Holdings for the position of Banquet Chef. As the Banquet Chef, you will play a key role in overseeing the food preparation for various functions held at our property. Collaboration, attention to detail, and culinary expertise are at the heart of this position, ensuring that our guests have a memorable dining experience.


  • Write transfers and food requisitions supervised by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  • Prepare designated food items according to standard recipes and policies under the guidance of the Executive Chef.
  • Promote teamwork between the main kitchen and banquet kitchen.
  • Consult with the Executive Chef on banquet forecasts and special functions.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and ensure proper storage of reusable items.
  • Report equipment defects to Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of culinary experience in a multi-unit hotel or conference center.
  • Prior experience in supervising a staff of fifteen or more employees.
  • Three years of culinary training.
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Creative, innovative, and assertive personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Basic Function

The Banquet Chef is in charge of all food and beverage preparation for scheduled functions at the property.
